Mossos in a cage and other images of the squatter eviction in Barcelona

The eviction of the squatted buildings of La Ruïna and El Kubo, which began this morning around six, has left memorable images.

The evacuation operation would begin with the “cage technique”, where the agents used a type of bars to protect themselves from possible objects that could be thrown at them while they tried, with a radio, to access the building and break through the fence that surrounded it. protected

The squatters have tried to hinder and stop the entry of the police forces with fire extinguishers.

Once they have managed to penetrate the first defense barrier, pyrotechnics, fire and a liquid that was initially thought to be flammable but was later discarded have taken over the entrance to the building.

During the eviction, on the façade of the Ruïna building you could see a banner with the protest message “Your luxury is our misery. Our houses are Trinxeras. ACAB”

Next to her was the last of the squatters who resisted in the building. She hung herself with a rope from the roof and was suspended in the air waiting to be dislodged.

Another of the last resisters climbed to the top of the building waving a black flag. He was evicted without resistance.
