The Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and general secretary of the PSPV-PSOE, Diana Morant, has accused Mazón of constituting herself as the opposition to the Government of Spain and asks him to “convince” Alberto Núñez Feijóo to unblock the change in the model of financing.
Morant made these statements upon her arrival at the National Committee of the Valencian Socialists, asked about the vote against the Valencian Socialists in Les Corts to the leveling fund.
The general secretary has indicated that “we are not going to fall into the traps of the PP and Mazón” and explained that “the first surprise is that the president, Carlos Mazón, brings to Les Corts all the issues that he has pending with the Government of Spain because it has established itself as the opposition to the Government of Spain.”
And for this reason he has asked that “both in the leveling fund or the change in the financing model, it is necessary to convince Feijóo that he is the one who is blocking the change in the financing model and does not want to sit down with the Sánchez Government.”
What the PSPV wants to talk about in Les Corts, he indicated, “is why Mazón is starting to cut back.” In his opinion, the Mazón Government “has come to curtail rights and freedoms – we see it in the five laws of shame to which 300 amendments have been presented.”
Because “we do not want to whitewash Francoism or curtail the human rights of the victims; nor freedom of information; nor the right to teach Valencian in the classrooms nor with the right to transparency and good governance that we have guaranteed by the previous Government,” he indicated.
Nor, he added, do we want the cuts that have already been announced in educational matters. The PP, “in the first course that it has tried, has already used scissors”, cutting “200 infant and primary units, by half the FP offer, in the Valencian”.
Morant has also assured that the president of the Generalitat “lies” about the water that the Albufera is receiving and accuses him of spreading “a new hoax.” Asked about the exchange of accusations between the Minister of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, and the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón regarding the situation in Albufera, Morant pointed out that it is the Government of Spain that “tells Mazón who lies and that politics cannot be based on lies.”
For the minister, the fact that Mazón assured that the Albufera is not receiving the cubic hectomers of water that were committed is “a new hoax and a new lie from Mazón that Valencian society does not deserve.”
In his speech, Morant highlighted that “social democracy is the only guarantee of progress in Europe” and highlights that “the most recent history shows that the answer and the solution is always more Europe.”
Morant assures that “the PP governs with the defenders of the fascist regimes who this weekend organized a coven in Madrid with Milei as political godfather.” And he points out: “we are concerned about the reactionary drift of the Consell de Mazón because a radical government is bad for Valencians.”
