The former vice president of the Valencian government and former leader of Compromís Mónica Oltra was applauded this Saturday when attending the Initiative assembly – one of the three parties that make up the Compromís coalition -, the first political event in which she participated after the file of the case judicial that was opened to investigate it.

Although his attendance was not planned, Oltra finally attended the event, held in the Antonio Cabeza auditorium in Paterna. Although he has not participated or made statements, his presence has caused one of the spokespersons, Alberto Ibáñez, to consider it necessary to “acknowledge the errors.” Thus, Ibáñez has apologized to Oltra for not having “supported her collectively” and for not having “stood better.” “But also thank you, because we will know that we will be able to return,” he continued.

On April 2, the court case that led her to resign in June 2022 as vice president of the Consell and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies was archived.

Mónica Oltra has not intervened in the assembly nor has she made any type of public statement, but at the moment of her entry into the auditorium the event has been interrupted and the participants have given her applause and a standing ovation, which she has thanked by placing her hand. about the heart.

He subsequently went on stage to greet the Initiative spokesperson, Alberto Ibáñez – who was speaking upon his arrival – and the members of the assembly tables and once again thanked the members of Initiative for their support.

The Initiative assembly debated and voted this Saturday on how to regain political weight and maintain its identity within the coalition with Més and VerdsEquo, for which they proposed adopting the formula of the federation of parties.

Likewise, the general assembly of the Initiative has approved providing “greater organization and stability” to the coalition in order to “move forward” towards the federation of parties to “open” and turn the party into “the solution to the entire transformative left.” ”. To do this, it has appealed to “generosity” with the purpose of “refounding” Compromís as a federation of parties where “diversity is valued” and “one of the parts cannot be the whole.”

One of the spokespersons, Alberto Ibáñez, has defended that the “natural step” is to go “towards a federation” that “respects the plurality of the parties” but that, at the same time, “facilitates participation as a party-movement to that people who are not in each of the parties.” Furthermore, he has considered that it is time to “open up and overflow” Compromís to provide “a solution to the entire transformative left of our country.”
