After the rain, the wind reaches the Fontajau bridge, an important infrastructure that improved communication in the city of Girona when it was inaugurated in 1992.
This bridge, the protagonist today in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos, served (and still serves) to connect the entire Güell area with Fontajau, the Sant Gregori road and the northern exit of the city of Girona.
This reinforced concrete bridge, in perfect condition, supports a lot of traffic. And it is important to access the Fontajau pavilion and the Parc de les Ribes del Ter.
It is 250 meters long and 9 meters high. It is supported by a four-beam structure, also made of concrete. The pavement is asphalt, with two lanes per side, it has sidewalks on each side, cement railings and is illuminated by streetlights.
As can be seen in the images, the Fontajau bridge is traveled on foot and by bicycle, in addition to seeing all types of vehicles pass through it daily.
