Summer is just around the corner, but the weather in Liverpool has been far from warm. Despite the calendar saying it’s almost time for beach days and barbecues, the temperatures have been struggling to climb out of the mid-teens. Many people have been venting their frustrations on social media about having to turn their central heating back on.

According to the Met Office, this chilly weather is expected to stick around for a few more days. A northerly wind bringing cold air from the Arctic is to blame for the below-average temperatures across the UK. This news is disappointing for Liverpool residents who have been eagerly awaiting some much-needed sunshine.

Accuweather forecasters are predicting some unsettled weather in the coming days, but there is a glimmer of hope for a mini heatwave on the horizon. The long-range forecast shows that on Wednesday, June 26, Liverpool could see sunny skies with highs of 21C. The following day, June 27, is expected to be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching 24C. Friday, June 28, could bring temperatures of 23C with a mix of clouds and sun.

After that brief warm spell, the weather is projected to cool down slightly. Saturday, June 29, may see temperatures maxing out at 20C with the possibility of showers in some areas. Sunday, June 30, is predicted to be a mix of sunshine and clouds with highs of 21C.

Looking ahead, the Met Office anticipates that temperatures will likely remain close to or slightly below average from June 16-25. However, between June 26 and July 10, typical UK weather conditions are expected to prevail.

While the current weather may not be ideal for sunbathing, there is hope on the horizon for a mini heatwave in Liverpool. So, hang in there, summer might just be around the corner after all.
