Messi's Inter Miami "may be one of the possibilities" for Luis Suárez

Inter Miami, a team that includes Argentine Lionel Messi, “may be one of the possibilities” for Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez, who arrived in Montevideo this Friday to enjoy a vacation after his farewell to Brazilian soccer.

“It could be one of the possibilities, I have the best player in the world and a great friend with whom we have always talked about things in the future but I still need to rest and enjoy and then make a decision,” the attacker told the local news program Telemundo in the Carrasco international airport.

When asked if there is a pre-contract with the North American team, Suárez stated that “one can talk about many things” that have linked him to “many different teams” during his career.

“We always have to live with that. I just now agreed to speak with my lawyer to see what possibilities we have since until yesterday I told him that I did not want to know anything until the Brasileirao was over and we will analyze to see what we have,” he insisted.

The top scorer of the Uruguayan team has just received the Golden Ball award, which recognizes the best player in the Brazilian Championship.

Suárez, who also won the award for best attacker, scored 17 goals in the league and was the main architect of leading his team to second place in the championship.

“At almost 37 years old, it has been the year that I have played the most games in my career, in which I have spent the most time away from my wife and my children. The award goes to them,” Suárez said in a brief speech.

Throughout the season, Suárez played 42 games, with a record of 22 goals, 14 assists and the Rio Grande do Sul regional title, in addition to the success that came with second place in the league, in a year in which Grêmio finished to ascend to the first division.
