Carlos Mazón stressed this morning that “I do not share and do not agree” with the criticism that his vice president, Vicente Barrera (Vox) made yesterday of Ximo Puig for being present at the tribute to Manuel Broseta, murdered by ETA in 1992. “I don’t agree and I don’t share it, it was on a personal basis, it was the wish of Broseta’s children that Puig came and I was happy,” added the president when asked about the attitude of his vice president and culture minister.
The tribute was held in front of the monolith erected in memory of the prestigious lawyer located in the same place where he was murdered by a shot to the head. For years, Ximo Puig has participated in this tribute that seeks to recover the memory of a law professor and politician who always opted for harmony in Spain.
But Barrear, in his message on the social network “Otegui and the rest of the band. Why didn’t he tell them on Saturday in Bilbao? Shame and hypocrisy.”
Immediately, the professor’s son, Pablo Broseta, a deputy in the Valencian Cortes for the PP, wrote a response message in which he directly questioned the Valencian vice president. In this he says that “as the son of the honoree I can only confirm that a majority has NOT understood anything. The photo was not sought by XP or by CM. This is an image that many of us should demand and claim, a reflection of agreement and consensus. I APPRECIATE the presence and message both. Thank you PRESIDENTS!” The children of the politician and professor of Commercial Law were at the tribute.
After the criticism of Vice President Barrera, the PSPV also responded on social networks: “Mr. Vice President, you have to have courage to use the tribute to a victim of ETA in this despicable way. First review your Francoist ideals and then, if that, think of others.”
