María Patiño, journalist and presenter, has opened her heart in a revealing interview with the magazine ‘Lecturas’. After confessing that she has needed psychological help after the end of ‘Sálvame’, Ella Patiño has shared intimate details about her insecurities since her youth.
At 52 years old, the presenter has admitted that loving herself has been a lifelong challenge, although she now feels an inner serenity. “It’s the only thing I’ve always wanted, to not be upset with myself,” she said excitedly.
The journalist revealed that she has had to make considerable efforts to cultivate a little self-love. On her path to self-acceptance, she remembered how she was advised to visualize little Mary and give herself a hug, a task she found difficult. “I have suffered excessively having everything, that made me feel bad,” Patiño confessed.
At age 23, she faced bulimia, a battle she shared publicly to help others. In this context, she highlighted Lady Di as her inspiration: “she made me feel that she was not a weirdo, that she was not the only one.”
The journalist, however, is cautious about being considered a reference in overcoming bulimia: “It scares me because I don’t have medical or psychological training. It overwhelms me to think about creating goals for people who are suffering from it and don’t. be able to help them.” María Patiño also shared that she has refused to give talks on the topic, since “if I don’t help, I suffer,” and talking about the same topic hurts her.
Furthermore, the news of his farewell to ‘Socialité’ has generated shock among his followers. The presenter, who had been leading the format since the beginning, thanked Paolo Vasile and her team for believing in her.
On her social networks, she expressed her need to continue growing and feel valued as a worker. With a positive look toward the future, María Patiño says goodbye to the program that has marked her career, highlighting that “she never considered ‘Socialité’ a small program.” Her final Instagram reflection, “2024, looking forward to hugging you,” suggests the journalist is preparing for new challenges and experiences in the year ahead.
