A man has been arrested this Thursday by the police for “criminal damage” and “dangerous driving” after colliding the car he was driving into the gate that closes access to Downing Street, the residence and office of the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.
According to a statement from the London Metropolitan Police, the vehicle collided around 4:20 p.m. (local time) against the Downing Street gate, causing no injuries.
The BBC has broadcast images of the car, a white utility vehicle, as it crosses the road in the direction of Downing Street traveling at low speed, which slows further before hitting the gate.
