The thirty-ninth edition of the Veranos de la Villa festival will start on July 5 with a program that includes more than 200 dance, circus, theater, music or exhibition activities aimed at all audiences, more than half of them free, which will take place in twelve districts of the capital.
The cycle, which will begin at the Puente del Rey, will last until August 27 and will end in the Tierno Galván park, and will have China as the guest country, the Madrid City Council said in a statement.
Madrid will honor the Asian country on the 50th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations with Spain, with activities in which the two cultures coexist and share leadership, with the collaboration of the Chinese Cultural Center in Madrid.
And artists and creators from countries such as Germany, Colombia, Cuba, the United States, Mali, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland and Japan will also be present.
The Conde Duque Cultural Center will be the stage for musical activities and one of the main venues, as it will host 23 cultural proposals. More than 50% of the scheduled activities are free and the festival will be present in 12 districts of the city.
