The bus network of the Madrid Municipal Transport Company (EMT) will reinforce the service during this Christmas. In addition, Metro de Madrid brings forward the closing on Christmas Eve to 10 p.m. and the opening on Christmas Day will be at 8 a.m., two hours later than usual.

Regarding the increase in bus lines, during the day, from December 22 to January 5, lines 1, 2, 6, 20, 31, 32, 35, 50, 51, 52, 53, 74, 133, 146, 147, 148, 150, E1, 001 and M1 will see their service reinforced on weekdays between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the Madrid City Council has specified.

On December 24, Christmas Eve, the daytime service will end between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., depending on the line and the header, except for special lines and lines to cemeteries.

On New Year’s Eve, most municipal lines will make their last departures from the headland between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

On January 1, New Year’s Day, the start of service for most of the network will begin between 7:15 and 8:45 a.m., depending on the line and the header, except special lines and lines to cemeteries. .

Likewise, the night bus service (owls) will also be subject to changes during the night of December 24 to 25, including the Airport Express line service.

On all night lines, from N1 to N26, there will be one bus per line between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. with departures from Cibeles and Alonso Martínez at 10:00 p.m., 10:50 p.m., 11:40 p.m. 0:30, 1:20, 2:10, 3:00, 3:50, 5:25 and 7:00 hours.

The N28 (Moncloa-Aravaca) will depart from Moncloa at 22:20, 23:30, 0:40, 1:50, 3:00, 4:10, 5:20 and 6:30 hours.

On Christmas Eve, the new circular night lines, NC1 and NC2, will provide service from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. in 35-minute intervals. From 4:00 to 6:45 the frequency of passage will be 70 minutes.

On December 25, Christmas Day, the daytime network will begin operating between 7:15 and 8:45, depending on the line and headend.

The daytime service of this line (Atocha-Airport) has its last trip scheduled on Christmas Eve at 8:45 p.m. from Atocha, and at 8:30 p.m. from T4 of the Airport.

Subsequently, the night service (Cibeles-Airport) will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve from Cibeles and will continue until 7:00 a.m. on Christmas Day, with a passage interval of 70 minutes.

From T4, the line will start operating at 22:30 and end at 6:30. On Christmas Day, the daytime service on this line will start at 7:45 from both terminals.

On December 31, the daytime service will end between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., depending on the line and departure point, except special lines and routes to cemeteries.

On New Year’s Eve, the night service schedule, from N1 to N26, will begin at 10:30 p.m. from the Cibeles headwaters and end at 7:00 a.m.

Line N28 will begin service from Moncloa at 10:50 p.m. and the last service will be at 7:00 a.m. from that same head.

On New Year’s Day, January 1, EMT’s daytime network will begin providing service between 7:15 and 8:45, depending on the line and gateway.

On December 31, the route to the airport will make the last trip at 9:30 p.m. from Airport T4 and at 9:45 p.m. from the Atocha interchange. Its night service will begin that day in both headwaters at 10:30 p.m. and will end at 7:00 a.m. in both headwaters. The frequency of passage will be set at 35-45 minutes.

The opening and closing hours of Madrid’s transport interchanges will be modified during the Christmas period, although in the case of Moncloa, Príncipe Pío, Plaza de Castilla and Avenida de América they will not affect any EMT line.

In the case of the Plaza Elíptica interchange, the anticipated closure on the 24th and 31st will not affect the last departures from the interchange, but on December 25 and January 1, it will open at 8:00, so the departures of line 155 prior to that time will be made from outside.

University routes E, F, G and U will stop providing service between December 23 and January 7, both inclusive. For their part, lines A and H will provide service with reduced hours from December 22 to January 5, both inclusive.

The usual programming of all university lines will resume on Monday, January 8.

The stations of the bicimad electric bicycle network that experience closures from November 22 to January 8 are: Calle Mayor, s/n; Celenque Square, 1; Calle Mayor, 20; Province Square, 1; Calle Carretas, 8; Jacinto Benavente Square; Plaza del Carmen, 1; Tres Cruces Street, 7.
