This article is a bit of a cry for help, let’s see if there is any luck. There are three protagonists: the little black dog is called Black, the lady is called Luz and the little white dog is Kaiser.

I am going to talk about the cries for help in silence, because there are situations in life that you never think could happen to you, but one is never insured for everything. The worst of all is when you lose hope, when you walk aimlessly and, even though your name is Light, you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Despite everything, you do not suffer so much for yourself, but for them, for these two creatures that you promised to take care of and that is the only thing you have left of your son, who is no longer here.

You feel helpless with immense pain because you cannot keep your promise and not because you don’t want to, but because you really can’t, physically, emotionally and financially.

This painful case is one of those that breaks your soul and makes you think. There are people who abandon their animals lightly like that and there are those who fight for them with everything, with what they can even if they can’t.

This is the sad reality of Luz Elizabeth, 71 years old. She lives in Barcelona, ??in the Sant Martí district, but more than she lives, it seems that she only exists.

Two years ago, her son died of cancer and she promised to take care of his two dogs rescued from the street, one of them from a container when he was only months old. This fragile woman, 69 years old at the time, did not hesitate to do so and take care of them. She tried to do it like her son did, but things didn’t go the way she wanted.

For more than a year he has been suffering from deep depression accompanied by multiple illnesses, bone pain, diabetes and, if that were not enough, he is awaiting eviction.

It is now impossible for him to take the dogs outside; one of them weighs 25 kilos, the other is smaller and weighs 11 kilos. There is no one to help her and the two animals cannot go outside, which leads to serious anxiety as well. Several residents of the Vocalia de Gossos de Sant Martí tried to find a protector who could take care of these innocent souls, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

Economically they are also bad. “Today I make them rice, I mix it with their feed. They come first, I don’t eat, but they do. How do I explain to them that we don’t have resources? When my son was sick, I asked for a loan for his treatment and this affected me economically,” explains Luz.

For two years, things are getting worse for her, instead of getting better. She doesn’t know what will become of her life. She has nowhere to go. But the biggest worry she has is her two dogs – the only thing she has left of her beloved son!

For this reason, the residents of Vocalia de Gossos de Sant Martí are looking for some help for her, an association that can take care of these two dogs or, even better, adoptive families for them.

The introduction of the dogs into their new homes will be worked on with a professional in dog education and they will be put up for adoption with a contract, if this option can be produced.

The neighbors still have hope that life can change for everyone and that miracles exist. Kaiser and Black are waiting for their families. They are sociable dogs that need a hand to get out of this.
