Almost a week has passed since the Extraordinary Assembly of the Royal Spanish Football Federation was held, in which Luis Rubiales announced his refusal to resign as head of the institution. Since last Friday, August 25, the disabled president of the RFEF has remained completely out of focus, still heavily peppered by the controversy generated by his kiss to Jenni Hermoso and the subsequent statements.
This last week it was Ángeles Béjar, Rubiales’ mother, who grabbed headlines by announcing an indefinite hunger strike and her confinement in the Divina Pastora church in Motril. Just three days later and due to an unexpected hospitalization, the woman has put an end to her protest, although she will still continue to give much to talk about.
Since the still officially president of the RFEF still does not show his face, it is a photograph leaked to Así es la vida that has led to the public reappearance of Luis Rubiales. The Telecinco program began its edition this Thursday showing the image, taken at the Santa Ana hospital, the same one where Rubiales’ mother has been admitted, and where she appears together with the doctors who would be taking care of her.
“The disabled president of the Federation reportedly went to the hospital this morning to thank the staff for how they treated his mother during her admission last night,” explained Sandra Barneda, presenter of Así es la vida. An image that “generates some questions” to the team of the program.
César Muñoz took the word of his partner to raise and try to answer some of these questions. “How is it possible that no one has managed to capture an image of Rubiales during his visits to the hospital in the last 24 hours and, nevertheless, he is photographed with nurses without any problem?”, the presenter wonders.
“Why don’t you show your face? Where is Luis Rubiales? We haven’t seen him for 6 days,” Muñoz qualifies. According to the information that Así es la vida has also provided, the former soccer player could remain in Salobreña, a Granada town near Motril, although the program has not yet managed to locate him.
