Kyle Rittenhouse claimed that he will attend Texas A&M University as a podcast host, but university officials claim that he was not admitted as a student.

Rittenhouse proudly wore a Texas A&M cap while appearing on “The Charlie Kirk Show”, a conservative podcast. He also stated that he would be attending the university.

“I’m going there. The episode aired on YouTube Friday at 9:59 p.m. “Beautiful campus, amazing people, amazing food.”

Officials at the university said that he would not be attending.

Kelly Brown, a spokesperson for the university, told The Dallas Morning News that “He hasn’t been admitted as a student this fall or summer.” NBC News reached out to the university in an attempt to get comment.

Rittenhouse shared his excitement about attending college and aspiring to be a pilot on the podcast.

He said, “It’s going be an incredible experience where I can finally get an education.” “I’ve had fun over the past six month and have lived my life free. It’s now time to get an education, get great grades, and succeed in life.

Rittenhouse’s actions in Kenosha (Wisconsin), on Aug. 25, 2020 during protests against the shooting of Jacob Blake by a Kenosha officer made national headlines.

Rittenhouse, who was from Antioch, Illinois had traveled to Kenosha (about 20 miles) armed with a rifle. He claimed he wanted to protect property during unrest.

He shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum (36), and Anthony Huber (26). Gaige Grosskreutz (27), was also injured.

Rittenhouse claimed that he fired in self-defense during his high-profile trial. Nov. 19 he was acquitted of five felonies, including reckless homicide as well as intentional homicide in Rosenbaum and Huber’s deaths.

Rittenhouse’s claims against Texas A&M are not the first school to dispute them. After Rittenhouse testified that he was studying nursing at Arizona State University in Arizona, a spokesperson stated that Rittenhouse had not been admitted to the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.

The spokesperson stated that he was in ASU’s online program where prospective students take general education classes in preparation for applying to university.

Since his acquittal, Rittenhouse has made several statements on conservative programs.
