Kristin Smart's parents sue murder Defendant's Dad for Supposedly moving her body

The complaint claims Ruben Flores caused them”severe psychological distress”

The parents of Kristin Smart, a California college student who disappeared in 1996 while walking home from a party, have filed a lawsuit against the father of the defendant charged with her murder, stating he induced casino siteleri them”acute psychological distress” over supposedly removing her entire body from his home.

Ruben Flores, 80, was detained a week and billed as an accessory to murder in relation to Smart’s disappearance. He’s accused of assisting hide Smart’s body following the murder, prosecutors said.

In a litigation obtained by ABC News on Thursday, Stan and Denise Smart alleged in February 2020, Ruben Flores eliminated their daughter’s remains out of his house in Arroyo Grande, California, days following the San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s department functioned him a search warrant.

Smart’s remains have yet to be found, police said.

Prosecutors also have alleged that Smart’s body has been”recently” moved after being murdered beneath Ruben Flores’ deck, according to a court record acquired by the San Luis Obispo Tribune before this past week.

During bond discussions Monday, defense lawyer Harold Mesick explained the evidence against Ruben Flores had been”so minimal as to shock the conscience,” that the Associated Press reported.

ABC News achieved to Mesick for comment on the litigation, although a judge has issued a gag order preventing attorneys from talking about the case outside the courtroom.
