King Emeritus Juan Carlos I briefly answered questions from the press this Sunday about his desire to see his family after two years residing in Abu Dhabi, to which he replied: “Ask, ask yourself.”
This has been the statement with which he has answered one of the journalists who has inquired about this issue, which he has curtly settled with the following statement: “I am here, in Sanxenxo”. He then closed the matter with a wave of his hand.
The king emeritus has visited this Pontevedra town this weekend to participate in a racing trophy in what is his first trip to Spain since his departure abroad, persecuted by controversies over his business and the commission of possible irregularities.
Juan Carlos I has also been asked about the visit he made yesterday to his grandson Pablo Urdangarin to see him play handball in Pontevedra. “My grandson very well”, he has been “everything great”.
The king emeritus arrived this Sunday at 10:32 a.m. at the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo (Pontevedra) to attend the last day of regatta for the Viajes InterRías Trophy, in which his boat “Bribón 500” is taking part, and in which he is expected to be his last full day in Galicia before heading to Madrid for a private meeting with the royal family.
As in previous days, the king emeritus has arrived at the port facilities in the car of his friend and host, businessman Pedro Campos, who has left him at the door of the yacht club offices, where he has gone with the help of one of his escorts and walking with difficulties, using a cane.
The last day of regattas in Sanxenxo will depend on the weather conditions, since yesterday they had to be canceled due to instability in the direction and speed of the wind.
