The break was consummated. Julia Parra, vice president of the Provincial Council of Alicante and, until today, the only remaining representative of the orange party in the institution, leaves the formation and does so through a harsh statement that we reproduce below in its entirety.

“Yesterday morning, a delegation of Cs made up of Carlos Pérez-Nievas, national coordinator of Cs and Mamen Peris, coordinator of Electoral Action and trustee of Cs in the Valencian Courts came to the Alicante Provincial Council to hold a meeting with me ” .

“Faced with what is an ultimatum by the leadership of my party, I would like to make the following considerations:

In yesterday’s meeting I verified that I did not have two Cs interlocutors before me but two emissaries of Ximo Puig, Compromís and Podemos – the radical left – with whom they have desperately allied themselves to, in a hurry, try to break exemplary institutions like the Provincial Council of Alicante, where it has been governed well and where helping the citizenry has prevailed over any other political consideration”.

“They are aware that the Alicante Provincial Council has been the umbrella that has alone protected the province of Alicante against the disinterest of the Ximo Puig government, which has left this province and its citizens abandoned to their fate in very difficult times.

The two messengers from Ximo Puig only came to threaten me and give me an ultimatum. They did not come to talk or listen. They did not come to talk about the management and interests of the citizens and the municipalities of this province. As much as I tried to tell them about reality and what ordinary citizens and municipalities need, they did not want to listen. They came to stage a farce. They only cared about deactivating this institution with a purely electoral interest.

They are giving the ultimatum to the citizens of this province. I am deeply ashamed of the extent to which this party and its leaders have degenerated. They have become puppets of the Ximo Puig government in the hope of having some chance of continuing on the political scene.

For all this, I have made the decision to unsubscribe from a drifting party that I no longer recognize.
