Jon Rahm wins in Riviera and recovers the number one in the world

Jon Rahm’s spectacular moment of form begins to acquire epic and legendary overtones. The golfer from Barrika prevailed this Sunday at the Genesis Invitational, thus achieving his third title of the year on the PGA Tour when he has just started the season. A victory that has brought his return to the top of the world ranking.

Globally, it is the fifth title for Rahm in the last nine tournaments he has played, figures only within the reach of the best golfers in history. With his victory in Riviera, Rahm is close to 10 million dollars in prize money on the North American circuit this season when there are still two months left for the first big of the season, the Augusta Masters.

It has not been a comfortable title for the Spanish golfer, who already has ten titles on the PGA Tour, one more than Severiano Ballesteros. The last day in Riviera has been arduous and intense and Rahm has not been completely comfortable at any time.

The Basque ended up signing 69 shots for a total of -17, which finally gave him two shots ahead of Max Homa in the standings.

Rahm has seen how on a couple of occasions, Homa has equaled him in the classification but an absolutely incredible shot on the 16th hole has guaranteed him a birdie that has allowed him to move through the final stretch a little more calmly, a scenario that has fueled Homa himself with an error from the bunker at 17.
