The 94th edition of the Oscars, held in 2022, went down in history for the slap that Will Smith gave Chris Rock. Until that moment, the actors were close friends but a joke by Rock – who served as presenter of the gala – about Jada Pinkett Smith caused the protagonist of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to go on stage very angry and hit the comedian.
It didn’t sit well with Smith that his friend made fun of the alopecia that his wife has been suffering from since 2018. Although at first it seemed that this uncomfortable moment was prepared, the truth is that Will didn’t take well that Chris publicly laughed at the actress’s illness.
“One day I was in the shower and I suddenly realized I had handfuls of hair on my hands. And I thought, Oh my God, I’m going bald,” Jada confessed on her talk show Red Table Talk. An alopecia disorder that the interpreter has tried to handle in the best possible way and very naturally, sharing her experience to help other women who suffer from it.
“I’m going to shave my scalp so no one thinks I’ve had brain surgery or something. Now, at this point, I can only laugh,” he later said on Instagram, where in recent years he has been proud of her look.
Pinkett Smith is currently starting to grow her hair back. To celebrate her 52nd birthday, the actress wanted to join the Barbie phenomenon by dying her hair light pink. “This is nothing more than a birthday surprise within the dawn of Virgo,” she says in a publication that already accumulates thousands of likes. In her image you can see Jada happy with her new color, which she wears with very short hair and which especially flatters her features.
This summer, the actress already experimented with another tone: platinum blonde. It was just when her hair began to grow that she dyed the top part of her in a striking color, almost white, with which she regained her smile.
