Israel extends its war against Hamas from Gaza to Lebanon. An Israeli drone attacked the offices of the Islamist organization in a southern suburb of Beirut, the Lebanese capital, on Tuesday and killed its number two, Saleh Al Aruri. Hamas has confirmed his death in the attack.
The action, about which almost all the details are still to be known, would corroborate that what the different military and government officials in Israel have been insisting for days is being implemented: if Beirut does nothing against the attacks that the country receives from its border, Israeli forces will act.
Until now, all eyes were on the daily rockets launched by Hizbullah, a militia supported by Iran, from the northern Israeli border. The direct attack against Hamas in the Lebanese capital expands the front of the war in Gaza.
