The spokesman for the Islamic State group (IS), Abu Huzaifa al Ansari, called this Thursday for individual attacks in Europe and the United States to support Muslims in the war in Gaza and congratulated those responsible for last Friday’s attack in Moscow .
In a 41-minute voice message broadcast on Telegram and whose authenticity could not be verified, the spokesman sent a “reminder message” to Muslims and said that what is now being done to Muslims in Gaza is “what The brothers in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Sinai (Egypt) and Yemen have suffered doubly a few years ago.
“We thank the soldiers of the caliphate for your efforts and pray to God that you succeed in reaching the lands of Palestine to fight the Jews face to face in a religious war that will end them all. In this regard, we incite the lone lions to to target Jews and Crusaders in all places, especially in the United States and Europe,” he said in the message in Arabic distributed by the Al Furqan production company, the group’s propaganda organ.
He described the war in Gaza as a “wound of Muslims”, in which the fight is needed “and not just slogans and slogans”, according to the speech, also published for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and to commemorate the ten years of the establishment of the “caliphate”, which was self-proclaimed at the end of June by its first leader, Abu Bakr al Bagdadi.
“And the fight against the Jews is not accomplished if it is not with the fight against their allies: the infidels and the crusaders in all places. Starting from that we have begun the united invasion launched to support our families in Gaza and which represents the brotherhood among the faithful,” he indicated.
Al Ansari thus reiterated his message broadcast on January 4 in which he called for attacks against the United States, Europe and the entire world, and in which he asked “not to distinguish between atheists, civilians or soldiers.”
Throughout the message, Al Ansari pointed out that after the attack in Iran last January, one of the worst in its history that left more than 90 dead, the Islamic State turned against “Russia, the crusade”, a term that group used to designate Christians.
The spokesman described the attack in Moscow as “a bloody attack by a group of lions of the caliphate” to “avenge Muslims and discipline infidels.”
The jihadist group claimed responsibility for the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall, 20 kilometers from the center of Moscow, which left at least 143 dead.
Among those detained are four terrorists who participated in the attack.
“We do not need to give legitimate explanations by attacking a country that always fought against Muslims before and now. And we continue to capture and kill their soldiers in Syria, and before that we defeated their plane in the Sinai,” he added.
In this way, it refers to the intervention that Russia has carried out in the war in Syria since 2015, as well as the downing claimed by IS of the Russian Metrojet plane that left the Egyptian city of Sharm el Sheikh towards Saint Petersburg, also in 2015, and left more than 220 dead.
