House Democrats are apparently not fans of Trump’s new ride, a lavish $400 million private jet gifted by the Qatari government. Rep. Jamie Raskin, the House Judiciary Committee’s top Democrat, along with his crew, fired off a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and White House counsel David Warrington to get the scoop on a legal memo Bondi supposedly penned defending the acceptance of the luxurious aircraft on behalf of the U.S. According to the letter, this so-called memo is in hot water for potentially violating the Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause, which bars the President from accepting gifts from foreign entities without Congress’s approval.

The Democrats are not holding back, accusing Trump or his peeps of possibly shaking down Qatar for a bribe in exchange for the swanky jet. The plot thickens as reports surface that Bondi and Warrington cooked up a memo claiming it was all good for Trump to take the plane and then pass it on to his presidential library post-presidency. But the Dems ain’t buying it, pointing out Bondi’s past ties to Qatar and questioning the legitimacy of the memo. It seems like Raskin and his gang are ready to go head-to-head with the Trump administration over this high-flying controversy.

While the Dems are flexing their investigative muscles, the Republicans seem to be keeping their distance. Senate Republicans are playing the “I know nothing” card when asked about the situation, while Speaker Mike Johnson is tiptoeing around the issue at his press conferences. Trump, on the other hand, is not backing down, defending his acceptance of the jet as a no-brainer move and taking shots at the Dems for making a fuss. The drama continues to unfold as the House Judiciary Committee digs deeper into the Qatar jet saga, setting the stage for a showdown between the two political camps.
