The Civil Guard of Villablino (León) has identified the owner of a mastiff dog, about seven months old, buried alive in a landfill in the Babia region. The animal also had a strong blow to the head “with the intention of causing death.”
A Seprona patrol of the Civil Guard began the investigation after finding the animal at the end of March in the clean point of the town of Piedrafita de Babia, in the municipality of Cabrillanes, the Government Sub-delegation in León reported in a statement sent to Europa Press.
As a result of the inquiries carried out by the agents, the owner of the animal, a farmer in the area, has been investigated as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of abandonment and mistreatment of domestic animals.
The mastina has been able to survive after being treated and cared for at a Villablino veterinary clinic, and is in good health. The proceedings conducted were forwarded to the Investigating Court number 1 of Villablino.
