Members of the Civil Guard in La Rioja are investigating a 14-year-old girl, resident in this autonomous community, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of public disorder after calling 112 and saying that she had planted a bomb at the Gonzalo de Berceo from the town of Rincón de Soto.

The events that have given rise to the investigation of this young woman began around 8:20 a.m. this Monday, when the Civil Guard received a notice from 112 to communicate that a person had made a call using a voice distorter, to warn of the placement of an explosive device inside the institute.

Immediately, the Civil Guard dispatched the Citizen Security and Information Service units to the scene, as well as the Explosives Disposal Specialist Group (Gedex) and the canine units specialized in the detection of explosives, to verify the veracity of the alert, as well as to guarantee security in the face of possible eventualities that may arise.

Once the 85 people who were in the facilities -students and teachers- were evicted, an exhaustive reconnaissance of all the institute’s dependencies was carried out, without finding explosive devices, verifying that it was a false alarm.

After that, agents from the Aldeanueva de Ebro post and the Information Service began an investigation to identify the author(s) of the call, turning out to be a 14-year-old girl, with two other girls aged 12 and 13 participating in the events. , both unimputable. The proceedings have been made available to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.

From the Civil Guard it is recalled that making calls of this type constitutes a crime against Public Order typified in article 561 of the Penal Code.

Specifically, it indicates that “whoever falsely states or simulates a situation of danger to the community or the production of an accident as a result of which it is necessary to provide assistance to another, and thereby causes the mobilization of the services of the Forces and Corps of Security, assistance or rescue, will be punished with a prison sentence of “three months and one day to one year or a fine of three to eighteen months”.
