One knows that Comic Barcelona is just around the corner when the city talks about nothing but cartoons, fanzines and cosplay. This Friday the 31st and until the 2nd of April, the largest national event, and one of the most internationally recognized, dedicated to comics, will take place at the Montjuïc venue of Fira de Barcelona.
Meritxell Puig, general director of FICOMIC and Borja Crespo, global content advisor, announced this Monday from one of the pavilions in Plaza Univers what can be expected from this 41st edition, in which internationality is once again more present than ever and in which Zipi and Zape are no less than 75 years old.
The exhibitions take on special prominence this year. Distributed in the different areas of the room, attendees will be able to enjoy a total of nine samples, ranging from a tribute to the recently deceased cartoonist Carlos Pacheco to a journey through the careers of cartoonists David López, Daniel Torres, Gran Premio de Comic Barcelona, and Genie Espinosa, Miguel Gallardo Revelation Author Award.
The cinema also gains importance thanks to Álex de la Iglesia, who has just published a book with Norma Editorial with the intention of discovering to the world his most comical facet and related to the world of role-playing. And laughter and satire will not be lacking thanks to the exhibition dedicated to those baptized as ‘Magas del Humor’, about thirty young graphic authors who have published their work in Spain
