In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see this series of detailed photographs of the lily of the Pyrenees. It can be observed in this summer time in this mountainous system.
This type of lily can be seen in two colors, yellow (Lilium pyrenaicum) and red-pink (Lilium martagon).
These beautiful flowers can be found in subalpine meadows. When you have them close they smell with a peculiar smell, not very pleasant.
The Lilium pyrenaicum reaches 1.3 meters in height. Each plant produces about 12 flowers. The Lilium martagon, also called martagón, weeping lily or bozo, is a lily more common in forests and shady places, such as oak, beech and holm oak groves, up to an approximate elevation of 2000 meters of altitude.
In the Lilium martagon, the flowers are grouped in a bouquet of three to eight pendulous flowers, with a pink-violet hue and small superimposed purple spots.
