More than 100 million Americans were beneath winter weather alarms Sunday from Minnesota to Maine as a significant winter storm continues to track eastward.
Heavy snow blanketed the Great Lakes and Midwest area Sunday morning as medium to heavy rain fell across the Ohio Valley to the Southeast.
Approximately half a foot of snow is presently being reported across portions of southwest Virginia and to southern West Virginia, while portions of northeastern Illinois and southeast Wisconsin are reporting over 10 inches up to now.
Snow continued to detract from Chicago to Ohio Sunday day and regions such as Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia have begun to see snow.
Snow will start to disperse near New York City Sunday night from south to north, starting as a mild flurry.
Between 3 5 and Destiny a.m., thicker snow will probably be accompanied by gusty winds, deteriorating road conditions with reduced visibility.
The snow will then continue over the I-95 corridor through the afternoon on Monday with the heaviest snow falling during the day.
The worst of this storm will float through Monday evening, as soon as a time of blending may transition into a chilly rain for coastal locations.
Elsewhere, a collection of systems will proceed throughout the Pacific Northwest and Northern California during the upcoming few days bringing heavy rain.
There’s a danger for flash flood across southern Oregon and Northern California in which they can see up to 5 inches of rain.
Additional snowfall of 1 to two ft is expected across the Cascade mountain range during Monday evening with the avalanche warning was issued to the area from Lake Chelan southward to I-90 through 6 pm Sunday.
