Segment A, that of urban cars, has been one of the most affected by the transformation experienced by the market in recent years. The low profitability for manufacturers of this type of automobile has caused the withdrawal of many of them, who prefer to focus on the segments with the greatest demand.

Manufacturers do bet on the B segment, in traditional and crossover formats, but the smaller ones are becoming fewer and fewer. Offering a segment A model does not exempt manufacturers from complying with emissions standards and, of course, from offering driving assistants in standard equipment that are required by law. These conditions obviously reduce the profitability margin for the manufacturer.

However, some brands continue to offer small cars, less than four meters in length, at reasonable prices, although they are no longer cheap. The Hyundai i10 is one of the most in-demand models in this segment and the Korean brand has just presented an interesting update that affects its image and improves its equipment.

This list describes the alternatives that the current market offers in segment A, with combustion engines (the electric Dacia Spring would fit due to price) and rates below 20,000 euros. Fortunately, there are still brands that do not forget about customers who want an urban, practical and reasonably priced vehicle.
