A 72-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after a head-on collision in Scripps Ranch on Thanksgiving Day, as reported by the San Diego Police Department.

The incident took place in the evening when an 83-year-old driver of a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC300 was heading northbound on Scripps Ranch Boulevard. At the same time, a 50-year-old man was driving a 2014 Nissan Maxima southbound on Aviary Drive with three passengers on board.

The collision occurred when the woman driving the Mercedes Benz turned right onto Aviary Drive, entering the southbound lane in the wrong direction. This resulted in a head-on crash with the Nissan Maxima.

One of the passengers in the Nissan Maxima, a 72-year-old woman, sustained a skull fracture and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital. As of now, her current condition remains unknown.

Authorities have confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the accident. The Traffic Division officers have taken charge of the investigation, and they are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
