A 38-year-old man has been arrested in Orihuela after he allegedly robbed a jewelry store where he had intimidated the employee with a screwdriver and lost the keys to the vehicle in which he intended to escape, as reported by the National Police.
When fleeing the scene, several citizens mobilized and managed to snatch the loot (a palette of jewelry), in addition to providing information about the event. According to the story of one of the witnesses, the alleged thief did not manage to get into the vehicle in which he intended to escape because he had lost the keys, collected by the victim herself, who saw how they fell during the robbery.
The agents first attended to the victim and found the vehicle in question, which allowed the identification of the suspect.
He was located and arrested on Avenida de la Estación in the Oriola city as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with intimidation and was subsequently brought to justice.
