The candidate for the presidency of the Junta de Extremadura, María Guardiola, has announced this Thursday that she will directly assume the powers in terms of equality in her government to “guarantee its priority nature”.

“We do take equality seriously, we work every day for its full realization”, reaffirmed Guardiola, who has asserted that equality will be a “priority” axis in his government in Extremadura, a matter that “must be addressed in a transversal way through the different political policies, and through all levels of government”, since, according to what he has said, “it supposes the effective fulfillment of a fundamental right”.

In his speech, Guardiola pointed out that progress has been made on equality but “there is still a long way to go together”, after which he pointed out that “there is a lot of talk about feminism in these days of terrible omens”, compared to what he reaffirmed that the women of the PP do not admit “lessons of feminism or equality from anyone, there have always been women who with their lives and their efforts fought for equality.”

María Guardiola has spoken in this way in the inauguration speech that she gave this Thursday in the Assembly of Extremadura, in which she has considered “a social conquest” that she is going to be the first woman president of the Junta de Extremadura, after what who has sent recognition to the women who “have broken glass ceilings so that I can be here today”.
