The PP candidate for the Presidency of the Board, María Guardiola, has asked the president of the Assembly of Extremadura, the socialist Blanca Martín, “a few days” to resume contacts with Vox and to be able to present, within the established deadlines, her candidacy to be invested as president of the Board, and at the same time has asked her not to process the request of the socialist Guillermo Fernández Vara to submit to a “failed” investiture.

Guardiola made these statements after meeting with Blanca Martín, who on Tuesday began consultations to propose a candidate for the investiture.

The PP leader has reiterated that the “center-right” block is the only one that can form a government, and criticizes that Fernández Vara presents himself “as the savior of a land that is going to be blocked”, when the reality is that ” It’s been blocked for a long time.”

For this reason, he has asked Martín not, for the moment, to propose the investiture of Vara, who, knowing that they do not give him the numbers, intends to “make a farce using the institution” to do a new “service” to Pedro Sánchez ahead of the general elections on 23-J.

In his speech, in which he has denied pressure from his party to reach an agreement with Vox but has listened to “opinions”, he has said that he has not changed his position since his appearance after the constitutive session of the Assembly, in which He reiterated that Abascal’s formation would not enter his government, and he has once again referred to the letter addressed to the militants this past Sunday.

“My hand is outstretched, as always, the bridges are still there. I want to continue talking, dialoguing, because the only thing that matters to us is Extremadura and the people of Extremadura,” said Guardiola, who when asked if he maintains that Vox will not be in his hypothetical government, has limited itself to answering that it has been “very clear” about it.
