The French tennis player Fiona Ferro, winner of the Federation Cup in 2019 and two WTA tournaments, has denounced her former coach Pierre Bouteyre for rape and sexual assault for some events that would have occurred between 2012 and 2015, when the player was younger .

Ferro, 25, filed the complaint six months ago, although it has now been made public. According to the Nice Matin newspaper, which has made the news public, Bouteyre, 50, has been charged since August 18. The defense of the coach and former tennis player acknowledges that there were relationships, but consented.

Bouteyre is free, but the authorities have imposed judicial control measures on him, along with the obligation to undergo psychological treatment, a ban on working with minors and on coming into contact with Ferro.

The French player, whose best world ranking was 39th and who has been eliminated from the current US Open in the qualifying phase, accuses her former coach of raping her when she was between 15 and 18 years old.
