The CWUR ranking, which annually analyzes almost 21,000 universities around the world, has made public the list of the best centers based on indicators related to both teaching and research, around four fundamental aspects: the quality of teaching, which is measured by the number of former students who have won international awards or recognition, the employability of alumni (those who have won international awards) and research results and performance.

In it, the University of Barcelona occupies position 70 in the world and first place among Spanish universities. The second position goes to the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ??located in position 196 overall. The Complutense University of Madrid holds the third place in the country and the 244th in the world. The fourth position goes to the University of Valencia (296), the fifth to the Autonomous University of Madrid (304), the sixth place to the University of Granada (348), the University of the Basque Country occupies seventh place (369), the eighth for the Universitat Politència de Catalunya (384), the ninth place for the University of Seville (408) and the tenth position for the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (416).

Globally, the top positions are held by Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford.
