The 2023 Formula 1 season begins this weekend with the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sakhir track. This will be the first of the 23 races that make up the World Cup, in which Fernando Alonso intends to turn his career around at the hands of the new Aston Martin AMR23.
The two-time F1 world champion (2005 and 2006) can surprise the public in this F1 World Championship thanks to the good performance offered by Aston Martin in the pre-season tests. The Asturian driver’s AMR23 could be at the level of Ferrari’s SF-23, taking the first podium this season, so many surprises are expected.
The Spanish fans will also be focused on Carlos Sainz, the man from Madrid who managed to beat Charles Leclerc in the pre-season tests. Despite its good one-lap speed results, the SF-23 has a degradation issue in race sim that could make it difficult for Sainz and Leclerc to win.
As for the top favorite for the title, it is the Dutchman Max Verstappen, who would be looking for his third consecutive crown at the hands of Red Bull, followed by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc together with Mercedes and Ferrari respectively.
The first tests carried out last week on the same track have made it clear that Red Bull promises with Verstappen and the Mexican Sergio Checo Pérez, who set the best time; Ferrari has improved considerably to position itself among the favourites, and Mercedes has not had auspicious performances.
The 2023 Bahrain GP will be held from March 3 to 5 at the Sakhir circuit (57 laps). The classification of the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix 2023 will be held at the Sakhir circuit, on Saturday, March 4, starting at 4:00 p.m. The Bahrain Grand Prix classification can be seen in Spain only through DAZN on its DAZN F1 channel.
