The atmosphere in Ferraz was calm as the first protesters arrived at 5:30 p.m., protesting on the sidewalk itself and respecting the circulation of vehicles in the area and the adjacent streets.

Later, around 7:00 p.m., the National Police began to shield the area as the tension grew and exceeded the limits of the sidewalk, from the corner of Marqués de Urquijo, where they gathered this Saturday when precisely 16 days had passed. since the concentrations began.

The protesters carry Spanish flags and banners against the amnesty and Pedro Sánchez, while chanting against the PSOE pacts with the Catalan nationalist parties.

Among the protesters, Carlist and Francoist flags are also seen and they chant ‘subnormal ruffian’ and ‘Pedro Sánchez likes fruit’, in reference to the ironic words that the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, uttered to Pedro Sánchez in the first session of the investiture debate in the Congress of Deputies.

This morning, tens of thousands of people with flags of Spain and the European Union packed Madrid’s Plaza de Cibeles and the adjacent streets this Saturday. Called by more than a hundred forums and civic associations, the slogan of the protest was ‘Not in my name: neither amnesty, nor self-determination. For freedom, unity and equality’.
