Three local police officers from Banyoles and two police officers were slightly injured this Tuesday afternoon after being stoned by around sixty people who were protesting two arrests, as confirmed by ACN from police sources.
It happened this Tuesday at five in the afternoon in the capital of Pla de l’Estany. Service agents have carried out checks in an underground parking lot in Plaça de la Pau, in the Farga neighborhood, and have discovered six marijuana plants, a fan and a light bulb.
In the operation, two people have been arrested for the crime of attacking law enforcement agents. After the arrests, around sixty people demonstrated in the streets against the police action.
At first the protesters showed their intention to gather in front of the Mossos police station, but they finally gave up on this idea. Then some of them began to throw stones at the patrol cars of the local police and Mossos that were in the area.
It was during these stone throwing that the three local police officers and the two police officers were slightly injured. One of the officers has also been sprayed in the face with a liquid, possibly pepper spray. The two police forces are searching the area for the perpetrators of the attacks.
