To have fun. It is the first hypothesis that the National Police of Granada is considering about the physical and indiscriminate attacks that a group of five minors have been carrying out in the capital for a couple of months.

Now, the members of this gang are being investigated after the number of complaints about similar events skyrocketed since March in the Southern district, normally on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As a result of the investigation and the devices carried out, the police have managed to put an end to these attacks, some of them carried out with blows and others even with bottle blows, according to the National Police Corps.

The investigation began when agents from the Group of Minors -Grume- detected an increase in the number of complaints received for violent physical attacks carried out systematically and indiscriminately by a group of young people without any cause other than the mere fact of having fun in this way. manner.

The attacks occurred especially on Fridays and Saturdays between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. in the same area of ??the Southern district of Granada. After their analysis, the agents found a common pattern, both in the scope of action and in the modus operandi, reaching the conclusion that the perpetrators could be the same individuals in all cases.

The modus operandi of the aggressors was very similar: one of the young people approaches the victims while they are sitting on a park bench or walking down the street and asks them for a cigarette or something similar; upon rejecting the request, the individual He returns with other members of the group and, without further ado, they begin beating him and even hitting him with bottles, without any other cause to justify this action.

Some of the victims have needed health care for the injuries suffered, since this is a very large group with a high degree of violence. Some of the attackers hide their faces, most likely to make identification difficult.

However, the investigators have the collaboration of other units of the Provincial Citizen Security Brigade, mainly the Prevention and Reaction Unit in establishing surveillance and specific devices in which minors who are in the established place are identified. and in the interested time slot, whose physical characteristics coincide with those provided by the victims.

The first devices and surveillance revealed the identity of some of these minors and since then a considerable decrease in the number of attacks was noted which, together with the multiple investigations carried out, has led to the investigation of these five minors who would be involved in these events committed as a group. The result of the investigation has already been communicated to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office in Granada.
