Five horses from the Household Cavalry, one of them soaked in blood, have wreaked chaos on the streets of London in an atypical scene that has not escaped the attention of citizens.
According to media reports such as the BBC and the Daily Mail, the animals are part of the Household Cavalry and would have escaped after their morning exercises in Whitehall. Apparently, the horses had become frightened during their training, breaking away from their riders and causing injuries to one of them.
The accident. Several testimonies explain that they have heard one of the soldiers scream clearly after his horse collided with a car and he fell to the ground. Another animal has also collided with a bus, breaking its windshield and a third has crashed into a taxi.
Miscellaneous damage. Emergency services have treated the injured soldier in the street, although the extent of the injuries is unknown. In the images recorded by users you can also see a Mercedes-Benz brand van with side damage and broken windows.
The animals, injured. As can be seen from the blood-soaked white horse, the animals have also suffered significant damage from blows and broken glass. The horses have been seen on Victoria and Aldwych streets. At the moment, the metropolitan police have reported that they have been able to stop two of them on the highway and that they are waiting for transportation to immediately take them to veterinary care.
“We know that there are several horses loose in central London and we are working with our colleagues, including the army, to locate them,” said the police, who received the first notice at around 8.40 in the morning.
