Five people arrested within the framework of an operation arranged by the Civil Guard, in coordination with the Tax Agency, to combat drug trafficking. In essence, the actions have taken place on the coast of Cádiz as well as in the bed of the Guadalquivir river, as reported by Benemérita in a note.

The agents have intervened up to six boats, four of them semi-rigid and two smaller ones used for logistical support of the organization, as well as 400 liters of fuel destined to supply the drug boats have been seized.

In one of the actions, there was the collaboration of the Portuguese National Republican Guard (GNR), in which a person was arrested and one of the boats was seized, after being chased by a Maritime Service patrol boat with heading to the town of Faro (Portugal).

All these actions are part of the services developed by the Civil Guard units, within the IV Special Security Plan for Campo de Gibraltar, in coordination with those of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency to fight against organizations dedicated to drug trafficking.

Units of the Civil Guard belonging to the Commands of Algeciras, Cádiz, Huelva and Málaga have participated in the different devices for the interception of these vessels, as well as agents from the Maritime Coordination and Surveillance Center of the Civil Guard, Rapid Action Group and Air Service in coordination with the combined Customs Surveillance Units of the Tax Agency in those locations.
