Fires in restaurants in Madrid continue. Yesterday, a new fire broke out in the Txistu restaurant, located in the Chamartín area. The fire forced the evacuation of the restaurant during lunch time.

The chef Juan Cuenca explained that this Tuesday an expert and an electrician will pass by to detect and fix the reason why the flames occurred yesterday. He also pointed out that the restaurant will not open until the problem is definitively solved.

There were no injuries and the customers who were in the premises were referred to the nearby Donostiarra steakhouse, which belongs to the same chain.

Two fire crews quickly put out the flames. The fire was started because the grill and the extractor hood caught fire. An ambulance from the civil protection samur also went to the restaurant in a preventive way. A waiter was treated for possible mild smoke poisoning, but was ultimately not transferred to any hospital.

On July 14, there was another fire in the kitchen of the Lana restaurant, located at number 59, Ponzano street. The flames started in the kitchen chimney hood. And on Manuela Malasaña street, on July 9, there was also another fire at the Superchulo restaurant. In this case, there were seven affected by light smoke inhalation. The fire affected the false ceiling and spread to the first floor of the building. On that occasion, nine fire crews extinguished, ventilated and inspected the building.

But the worst fire was on Manuel Becerra street in the Burro Canaglia restaurant, on April 21, when three people died, when the decoration of the premises caught fire when a pizza was flambéed. There were 10 injured in addition to the deceased.
