Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) has installed new signage with service information at Plaça Catalunya station on the Barcelona-Vallès line to facilitate access for users to different cultural facilities located near the central station.
The signage, which has been placed in the corridor leading to Rambla, highlights different cultural centers located around this emblematic street in Barcelona, ??such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Boqueria, the Ateneu Barcelonès, the MACBA and the Museum of Cera, as well as the distance in meters from the train station to each of the facilities. In addition, the signage has a photograph of each of the cultural institutions to reinforce visual identification among users.
This initiative is part of FGC’s policy of promoting culture and facilitating citizens’ access to cultural facilities and events through the use of the railway as a sustainable means of transport.
The Plaça Catalunya de Ferrocarrils station has a strategic location since more than 90,000 people pass through it a day.
