Feijóo thinks of a woman as vice president, not of Santiago Abascal

Feijóo had announced his presence in El Hormiguero, on Antena 3 with irony: “We talk the same about politics and elections,” he said on his Twitter account, and they spoke. They did it for an hour, like the day before, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the agreements with Vox in town halls and autonomous communities occupied part of the interview. And he agreed with Sánchez on what sanchismo is: “Evil, lies and manipulation”

The current and future pacts, Pablo Motos asked Núñez Feijóo if Santiago Abascal would be his vice president and the PP president’s response was significant. “My goal is to have a vice-president of the Government and I know who she is”, although he did not want to say it, just as he knows who his Minister of Economy would be if he wins the elections, but he is not going to say it. He only gave a hint “they are good, very good”, and that is that in his opinion, handing out ministries before winning an election seems very arrogant.

For that, he asks for a large majority. According to the polls, Feijóo said, he is currently 30 seats away from an absolute majority, and he remembers that when he was president of the Xunta he had four majorities and a poll never gave it to him before the elections, and the same happened with Juanma Moreno in Andalusia or with Isabel Díaz Ayuso in Madrid. What he wants is a large majority “to be able to name my entire government and give explanations only to the Cortes Generales and to the Spanish people.”

The president of the PP does not want to talk about red lines to Vox. He prefers to talk about not renouncing the principles of the PP and there are things that he is very clear about: “The Constitution and the rights of the Spaniards included in the Constitution are not negotiable.” He could put other red lines: “I am not going to negotiate sexist violence, nor am I going to negotiate the autonomous state.”

Or in other words, if the party with which you have to agree “respects the Constitution and the rights of the Spaniards, we can disagree but we can agree”, and that, he said, is what the PP is doing in autonomous communities and city councils .

The president of the PP recalled that the PP has not only agreed with Vox, which has given the mayoralty of Barcelona to the PSC, that of Vitoria to the PSE and the Guipúzcoa Provincial Council to the PNV. It has also agreed in Cantabria with the PRC and with the Canary Islands Coalition, in the Canary Islands. The summary is, for Feijóo, that of the autonomous communities in which there have been elections, in six the PP is going to govern without Vox, in 1 with Vox, Valencia, and there are Aragon, Extremadura and Murcia, where negotiations are still underway, “And when we agree with Vox we are the same PP that voted in Barcelona and Vitoria for the PSOE and in Guipúzcoa for the PNV.”

The president of the PP insisted that there are “five or six” ministries left over, of the 22 that there are now, he believes that Education and Universities, Labor and Social Security can be merged, include Consumption in some other Department and Equality does not have to be a ministry , according to Feijóo, who sees it more in Health and Social Policies, although he later confessed that if he is president, and he can, he would like Equality to be a body dependent on the presidency of the Government, that is, of him, as happened during his four legislatures that he was president of the Xunta de Galicia.

For Feijóo, the important thing is the Equality policies that are made, more than the existence or not of a Ministry. Alberto Núñez Feijóo stressed that, for him, the defense of the rights of LGTBI groups “are sacred, a conviction”, which does not mean that it will not “change”, he did not speak of repealing the Trans Law.

In the economy, the president of the PP insisted that one of his first measures will be to lower personal income tax for those who earn less than 40,000 euros, and confirmed that he will abolish the tax on large fortunes, because it will be returned to the autonomous communities, as was the case before. with the Heritage Tax, so that each community can act as it deems appropriate.
