The president of the PP rejects the accusations of “anti-democratic maneuvers” by resorting to the Constitutional Court, under amparo, to stop the approval of the amendments that reform the laws of the Judiciary and the Constitutional Court itself, so that magistrates can be elected of the High Court that cannot be appointed due to the blockade to which the PP has submitted to the Council. “He has a clear conscience,” he says, because “the government does not respect the rule of law.”

According to the popular leader, Feijóo has had to resort to the Constitutional Court, because the procedure that the Government has imposed “is illegal”, and in fact, he stressed, a lawyer from Congress warned him during the processing of the reform of the Penal Code that included these two amendments, even though they have nothing to do with the Penal Code. That is why he considers the resource appropriate. “The opposition not only has to oppose the government but also has to guarantee democracy in our country.”

In an interview on Telecinco, Alberto Núñez Feijóo defended that these reforms of two organic laws are being processed “without the opposition deputies being able to amend” the regulations during the processing, something that is, he says, a basic principle. “We are talking about procedure, there is a procedural flaw”, and according to the popular leader there are numerous amendments that would prove this. “The legal vehicle used is not the appropriate one,” he declared. For Feijóo, it is not acceptable to “use the Penal Code to modify other laws that are not the Penal Code.”

Alberto Núñez Feijóo not only has a clear conscience, he considers that the amparo appeal that the PP has raised was an obligation of the opposition. And if it is not possible to paralyze the reforms that the Government is making now, he will do it when he governs. For that he needs to have elections, and then: “We are going to see if in all the towns of Spain we restore the constitutional order and start again the Spain we knew.”

Feijóo insisted that if he is president, he will repeal the abolition of sedition and once again change the penalties for embezzlement, which are now reduced for those who have not personally benefited from embezzlement, in addition to other laws, because everything leads to the independentistas can advance their claims.

The president of the PP has no doubts “If Sánchez needs it to continue, there will be a referendum in Catalonia”, and if it is not now, “it will be in the next legislature” if Pedro Sánchez continues to govern and he needs the vote of the Catalan independentistas to continue in The Moncloa.

Feijóo once again spoke out against the vote of no confidence that Vox is planning, because it would be laundering for Sánchez. “There are moral and electoral victories,” said the president of the PP, and he is not “for moral victories.” He is convinced that “reason and ethics assist us”, but he needs “that reason be given to us by the Spaniards”.
