Feijóo did not speak of the Ibero-American Summit nor did he make explicit reference to the controversy that arose from his words on Saturday about Pedro Sánchez’s inclination to “pay homage” to certain “apprentice autocrats”, which provoked an angry response from La Moncloa, which called ignorant to the president of the PP. But he talked about it, without quoting it. He spoke of the existence of a “surrealist clamp” against the PP, made up of Sánchez, who insults the PP, and vox, which does the same, although he did not summon Santiago Abascal’s party. Feijóo responded to the president of the government accusing him of “bothering him that we speak”, and for this reason “they manipulate what we say, change the meaning of our words” and their sole objective is “to destroy the opposition, that there be no opposition.”

The president of the PP took advantage of the presentation of the electoral program with which the PP will contest the elections on May 28, to defend himself against the accusations of La Moncloa, which called him ignorant, and concluded from the words of the PP leader who rejected the Ibero-American Summit, in which the King participated. Feijóo did not say more, although he continued to speak of the “chic populism” that he attributes to the PSOE, but from his surroundings they stressed that the way in which the Government reacted, calling the president of the PP “ignorant” is “a sample of how nervous he is”. and “of weakness”, as happened in the motion of censure when Sánchez made Feijóo the protagonist of his speeches.

The PP underlines that interpreting the words of the popular leader on Saturday, in an act with Hispanics, as a questioning of the Ibero-American Summit or an act in which the King is present can only respond to the Sanchismo way of doing politics, or a attempt to “sneak into the PP’s agenda”.

Feijóo wanted nothing to overshadow the presentation of his program, but the forcefulness of the criticism, “insulting the opposition leader”, they emphasize in the PP, forced the president of the PP, who pointed out the main measures included in the program. A program of which the most remarkable thing, he said, is that “there is a program designed to comply with it”, contrary to what Pedro Sánchez has done from the first moment of his government, saying that he would not govern with Podemos, that he would not make the government of the independentistas, “and they decide all the laws”, or that he presented himself as the champion of “exemplary character, and today hides one of the most regrettable episodes experienced in Spanish politics”. That is why he considers that the most important thing about the program is “that everything will come true.”

Freijóo, very angry at the interpretation that La Moncloa wanted to give to his words yesterday, stressed that his program “is a commitment, a declaration of honesty and vindication of the given word.” A document with which the PP commits “that there will be no more breaches, lies or excuses, and that within four years we will not have failed in our commitments.”

For this reason, the program prepared by Íñigo de la Serna and Carmen Fúnez, “is not a resistance manual,” said Feijóo, but “a governance manual for Spain”, which includes measures from “the protection of democracy and the institutions ” to economic measures, turning it into a “management manual”, whose main objective is “to think twice every time you have to invest a euro”.

In economic matters, he insists on the line of tax reductions marked by the president of the PP since he arrived in Genoa. Specifically, the program undertakes to reduce the IBI progressively; the Tax on mechanically-tracted vehicles, applying bonuses by type of fuel and characteristics of the engines and their impact on the environment. Also reduce the tax on economic activities, at the start of companies; bonuses to companies that install systems for the use of renewable energy or implement transport plans for their employees; reduction of the tax on constructions and works; in addition to reducing corporate taxes and donations, and continuing with the deflation of personal income tax in the autonomous section of those communities where it governs.

But the electoral program of the PP also intends to “overcome the division and recover the Spain of consensus, the Spain of transition, the Constitution and the State of Autonomies.” In this area, Feijóo offered three major state agreements: in education, in health and in housing. The program also includes the defense of a “multilingual school”, which protects the co-official languages ??of the autonomous communities, but which at the same time, with this defense, shields the presence of Spanish in the classrooms, thus complying with the Constitution and the sentences.
