A dozen tractors and agricultural vehicles have been planted at the Jesús roundabout in Tortosa and have been blocking the C-12 highway, one of the main access roads to the city, since nine in the morning this Thursday.

There are nearly a hundred neighbors and farmers affected by the well water fee who denounce that it has begun to be charged “indiscriminately” without distinguishing between self-consumption and agricultural uses, which are exempt.

The irrigation communities claim that they have received “very expensive” invoices for a quarter. An example is the 14,000 euros for three months that has been charged to the irrigation community of the Pozo de las Barberanas de Jesús or the 5,000 euros that some farmers must pay for 2023 consumption.
