The roads that have been closed throughout the morning due to demonstrations by farmers with tractors have been opening to traffic, although at noon this Wednesday the N-3 in Utiel (Valencia) is cut off, while there are 6 kilometers of retention in both directions on the A-3 in this same municipal area.

In this regard, the Government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, has indicated that there is already evidence that there are sanction reports for uncommunicated road blocks in the Valencian Community. Bernabé has not quantified the volume of the sanctions and has limited himself to claiming that “absolute road closures” cannot be carried out as this could pose a “serious risk to the population that is in an emergency situation.”

Along these lines, he has insisted that it is “essential” that protests be carried out in a regulated manner and through legal channels to guarantee the safety of the people who have to move.

The General Directorate of Traffic has reported that there is still one lane closed in each direction on the A-3 highway in Utiel, which causes 4 kilometers of delays in the direction of Valencia and another 2 towards Madrid.

According to regional television À Punt, around 300 protesters have blocked the entrance of the CS-22 to the Port of Castellón, where tires have been burned and oranges have been thrown to the ground as a sign of protest.

Both the A-7 in L’Alcúdia and the CV-32 in Museros are now completely open to traffic, so only the N-3 continues to be closed at kilometer point 262 in Utiel, where “from time to time they give way but it’s still cut,” according to the same sources.

Early this Wednesday, the tractors kept the A-3 in the municipality of Utiel, the A-7 in L’Alcúdia and the CV-32 in Museros closed in both directions.

Throughout the morning, the right lane was opened on the A-3 in Utiel towards Valencia, so it was only possible to drive on the left and traffic was slow for 4 kilometers towards the capital.

Likewise, during the morning a lane was opened on the A-7 in L’Alcúdia (only driving on the left) and traffic was slow for two kilometers towards València.

The DGT has reported that neither in Alicante nor in Castellón, where during the morning the N-340 in Benicàssim and Vila-real towards the capital has been affected with several kilometers of slow traffic, there is no longer any problem.

In a statement sent this morning, ASAJA Alicante reports that the large protest of the agricultural sector in the province of Alicante will take place on Friday, February 16 and will cut the roads from two large strategic points: Orihuela and Villena, after having received authorization from the Government Subdelegation.

“Unity is strength and the agricultural organizations of the Valencian Community are looking for firm and stable solutions for the serious situation that agriculture and livestock are going through,” the statement said.

In the province of Alicante, ASAJA Alicante, the Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA), LA UNIÓ Llauradora i Ramadera, the Peasant Coordinator of the Valencian Country (CCPV-COAG) and the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA-PV) , with the support of the Agro-food Cooperatives of the Valencian Community, will carry out a protest and tractor unit that will cut the roads from Orihuela and Villena, with an event that will take place in the La Granadina Industrial Estate in San Isidro, Alicante, starting at 10 hours and of which more details will be reported in the coming days.
