The Trade Fair Industrialists Guild of Barcelona and Province regrets in a statement what they define as a “situation of vulnerability and abuse” of their rights in the face of the decision that, they detail, has been taken unilaterally by the Veïns Association of La Barceloneta, not to allow the amusement fair this year due to the celebration of the America’s Cup.
The fairgrounds consider that the Mercè de la Barceloneta fair “can coexist with this great event.” The decision to be able to install the attractions, according to the union, “leaves us completely helpless” so they demand a solution.
In addition, they reveal that Barcelona City Council has decided to subsidize the residents with the contribution “with which we collaborate every year” for the main festival.
