Erdogan da luz verde al ingreso de Finlandia en la OTAN

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Friday that he is giving the green light for Finland to join NATO, while accession negotiations with Sweden will continue.

The Turkish president made these statements at a press conference in Ankara together with his Finnish counterpart, Sauli Niinistö.

Turkey is not the only NATO member clarifying today its position on the entry of Finland and Sweden. In an apparently coordinated way, also Hungary – the other country that has not yet ratified the approval of both candidacies – will submit a vote in parliament within ten days.

At least, this is how the head of the parliamentary majority of Fidesz, the ruling party of Viktor Orbán, has expressed it on social networks. The same source points out, as in the Turkish case, that the decision on the candidacy will be made later. (News in enlargement)
