The environmental entities Good Karma Projects and Surfrider Foundation have initiated an administrative procedure before the Generalitat to demand environmental responsibility from the companies involved in pellet pollution in Camp de Tarragona.

They do so after five years studying the impact that these microplastics generate in the Mediterranean Sea and in the absence of measures from the administrations. “We see ourselves with the moral obligation to do so,” they stated.

These entities also ruled out that the announcement of this procedure is a direct response to the creation of the new platform a couple of weeks ago, where they were not invited. However, they regretted that they had been “left out” and see this new procedure as the only possible solution.
